Can I access support services if i'm not covered by the NDIS?Yes! If you are not covered by NDIS, you are still able to access our services which are delivered by our professional and qualified care workers.
-
What is the NDIS?The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was introduced in 2013 by the Australian Government. The scheme is overseen by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and allows individuals with a permanent and significant disability to access government funding. The funding goes directly to your plan, to allocate spending on the services you need from a provider of your choice. By choosing Society First, we work with you to help you achieve your short-term and long-term goals – whatever these may be!
-
How do i start the process? You will need to determine whether you’re eligible for this funding. This can be done by completing their Eligibility Checklist. You can then apply – once you determine your eligibility – by making an access request.
-
If I live with my family, how does Household Cleaning apply?"Generally the service is for you, as you hold the NDIS package and services are in place to assist you. If you live with other people, and there are communal spaces within a home that are used by everyone, these will be cleaned as part of your NDIS package.
-
How long will my services be?The service time will depend on your individual needs, the services that you are receiving and the funding available in your NDIS Plan. Service time will vary between each person, depending on your goals and funding available. These could be from 1 hour to 6 hours of service.
-
How much does it cost?Service agreements are created based on the your needs and available funds in your NDIS plan. These are calculated using the NDIS Support Catalogue which is available on the NDIS website.
-
Can I access multiple services in a single day?Yes you can receive all services on the same day. This is all dependent on your NDIS Plan and the available funds available to support your goals.
-
I'm Eligible! How can I access the NDIS?If you are eligible, you will need to call NDIS on 1800 800 110 to request an Access Request Form. You may need input from your GP or medical specialist/s as well as copies of any assessment, health care reports or other forms of evidence to support your application. If you already have this information readily available, you are off to a good start with planning for your planning meeting with NDIS! Once you have your Access Request Form, you have 21 business days to return it to NDIS for processing. We are happy to offer you advice on this if you need it.
